how to lose weight fast 2013 |
Introduction Popular non-surgical and non-medical methods to lose weight include exercise and eating habit. This article discusses a psychological approach for losing weight and then discusses how the author lost 5 lb in two weeks. _________________________________________________________________________________________ Psychological Approach for Losing Weight Direct Message Childhood overweight is at all-time high in the United States. Researchers found that children need direct messages to motivate themselves to change their exercise and eating habits. And, parents also need to learn how to talk about eating and exercise habits.[1] False Memories and Food Preferences False memories can influence future behavior, including decisions as fundamental as food choice or avoiding certain fattening foods. Researchers found people can be led to believe they got sick as children from a specific food such as strawberry ice cream. As a result, they were less inclined to eat strawberry ice cream as adults. The idea is based on the fact that food preferences developed in childhood continue into adulthood and the mere belief one had a negative experience could be sufficient to influence food choices as an adult. Thus, a person should start to learn the impact of high glycemic, high fat foods at childhood. In a study, researchers used two techniques to encourage the participants to process the false information, which resulted in 22 percent and 41 percent of the participants believing they had such a childhood experience. Participants even provided details of the experience such as "May have gotten sick after eating seven cups of ice cream." However, both groups showed similar tendency to want to avoid that food now that they "remembered" getting sick from it as a child. In one experiment, participants were more likely to believe strawberry ice cream had made them ill. However, the researchers speculate that only novel food items are effective with the false feedback technique. [2] While, here, we don't need to offer "false information" to ourselves, but, we simply repeatedly remind ourselves that high glycemic / fatty foods are bad, if we want to "lose weight fast"! In the other words, we need to be alert about what food we are going to eat from time to time. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Personal Experience - Losing 5 lb in two weeks. You may say that it (losing 5 lb in two weeks) is not impressive. But, the method that I used does not require taking a diet pill, medicine, nor cutting the amount of food that we eat, not even performing extensive exercise. This method is simple and it works. Why I know this weight loss method works, it is because I have just lost 5 lb in two weeks by using this method (as of July 4, 2013). I am an overweight person. In the past, I didn't do much on my diet. I simply ate less portions as to slow down the weight gain. Two weeks ago, I started to control my diet, and I found I lost 5 lbs. This method is actually based on South Beach Diet. In South Beach Diet, there are good carbs and bad carbs, good fats and bad fats. In the diet, the participants avoid to take bad carbs, which are foods with high glycemic index, and avoid to take bad fats, which as trans-fats and saturated fats. In the last two weeks, I simply avoided all the sugary drinks and food, for example I drank dark coffee instead of sugared milk-coffee, and I limited myself to take starchy food, such as French Fries, rice and bread. On the other hand, I took a full dose of fish oil daily and I took only high fiber-food, such as those high-fiber bars sold at convenience stores. To avoid malnutrition, because I might not have a balanced diet, I took multivitamins and some other basic supplements such as calcium. During this period, I didn't go to gym nor perform exercise specially for burning calories. But, I found that I lost 5 lbs by simply adjusting the choice of food. Food that I avoided (or limited) White bread, wheat bread, French fries, sofa (except diet sofa), sugared coffee, rice, cookies, muffins, chocolates, noodle, eggs, desserts, starchy foods (e.g. potatos) and fruits. Foods in meal Fiber bars, boiled Chinese vegetables, salad with no dressing or limited amounts of dressing nuts, fish, shrimps, and limited amounts of meats. Gilled meats (THIN) were preferred, as the animal fat content is relatively low. ________________________________________________________________________________________ Diet Plans and Medical Advices Because diet plans or supplements are not for everybody, one must consult with her/his medical doctor about a diet plan before hand.
