ArginMax has been marketed as the no. 1 natural, clinically-validated formula for improving sex
life (; Feb 13, 2011) on the market since 1997. ArginMax has two formulas,
one for men and one for women. Both formulas contain
L-arginine, ginkgo and ginseng. The
lady's formula further include damiana. Why is ArginMax formulated in this way?

L-Arginine is an essential amino acid for infants and growing children, and it is a conditionally
essential amino acid for adult mammals, as it is important in situations in which requirements
exceed production, such as pregnancy. The mechanisms by which L-arginine improves
endothelial nitric oxide bioactivity include increased intracellular uptake via the high-affinity
cationic transporter; substrate competition with asymmetric dimethylarginine, a naturally
occurring inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase; direct antioxidant activity; stimulated release of
histamine from mast cells, which produces a vasodilator response; decreased activity of
norepinephrine, which promotes the effect of endogenous vasodilators including nitric oxide;
and increased insulin secretion, which causes vasodilation.

Ginkgo Biloba is a very powerful herbal product that has been shown to have a number of
beneficial attributes. Ginkgo Biloba is manufactured and sold in Europe under pharmaceutical
and commission E standards, is best known for its ability to enhance circulation systemically.
Chao et al concluded that ginkgo biloba extract significantly suppressed proliferation and
increased cytotoxicity in human hepatocellular carcinoma.

Ginseng is an herb used in traditional medicine for thousands of years. In Mandarin Chinese,
the word Ginseng literally means "root of man". It was so named because the root of this plant
resembles the shape of a human body. Almost 2,000 years ago, the great Chinese medical
directory stated that ginseng increased longevity. It may have health benefits for people at risk
of cold symptom complex, learning memory, cancer and immunoglobulin. Amyloid beta-peptide
has been found to have a role in the free-radical oxidative-stress model of neurotoxicity in
Alzheimer's disease. Hydrogen peroxide level was elevated with AD-associated transgenic
cells expressing the amyloid beta-peptide. Treatment of these cells with Ginkgo biloba extract
significantly attenuated the basal as well as the hydrogen peroxide-realted reactive oxygen
species levels.

Damiana is a medicinal plant with many traditional uses and a reputation as an aphrodisiac.
Traditionally, it is believed to benefit sexual disorders, allergies and infections.

Are there side effects of this product?
A 4-week-placebo-controlled study involving 77 women, no side effects were observed for the
34 subjects supplemented with a mixture of ginseng, ginkgo, and damiana, L-arginine,
multivitamins, and minerals. However, high doses of L-arginine may cause
pancreatitis. A
56-year-old woman with a previous affective disorder presented a manic episode during
ginseng intake.
Ginseng may also increase the risk of bleeding. A 39-year-old female patient
experienced menometrorrhagia, after a prolonged use of oral and topical ginseng. High doses
of ginkgo biloba leaf extract may also cause hemorrhage in patients.
Ginkgo biloba may also
lead to ocular side effects.
Damiana affects the female hormonal system, may cause stomach
upset and weight loss. Its side effects may also include stool loosening. Users must consult with
their doctors for the potential side effects and benefits of this product before using it.
